Ski Touring Kågen / Arnøya


Guided ski tours on Kågen and Arnøya - two islands full of ski terrain and pure summit-to-sea skiing. These islands continue to be my absolute favourite spot, even after guiding there for over 10 seasons. Mountains, glaciers and ocean - it’s just a unique place. Some terrain gets rarely skied because only a few people know the place well. I have skied, explored and guided here since 2012 and even lived on the island across. Still, I come back every year. It is a magic place that never fails to amaze me.

Nowhere else are the skiing and the sea so close together.

The program offered I have been running since 2016. Pure summit-to-sea skiing, lovely accommodation and local food are a combination that makes my guests come here repeatedly. The tours run 5-6 days. We are based on the island of Arnøya, reached in two hours by speed-boat or five hours by car from Tromsø. There are mountains to ski for all skill levels. For example, Breikågen (683 m) offers easy-moderate skiing from the summit to the sea. The tour to the summit of Arnøyhøgda (1165 m) is a stunning, actual alpine experience. Store Kågtinden (1228 m) has demanding ski terrain to satisfy the strongest skiers. Even long traverses are possible like the Kågen S-N traverse: a long (24 km, 2420 m vertical), demanding traverse of 3 summits - Storsandnestinden, Redotinden, Store Kågtinden - with fantastic ski descents along the way.

  • NOK 18500 (ca. EUR 1650) pp for groups of 5
  • NOK 20750 (ca. EUR 1830) pp for groups of 4

Prices incl. six days of guided skiing, accommodation for six nights with full board on Arnøya, and transport to Arnøya from Tromsø and back. For other days and shorter trips, get in touch.
